Inspire yourself with this cool ViralUrl email headlines

As I’ve said before, ViralUrl messages are the perfect place to test different headlines and improve your copywriting skills.

Today, this quick post will hopefully inspire you to write cooler, more effective headlines, like these ones:

1. Fw: F5M -MC #3 M/R1

What would you do if you saw this headline on your inbox? I was really intrigued by it – so I opened it. Tons of people must’ve done the same.

It turned out to be some MLM stuff… but great headline.

2. Twitter – I have over 100K Followers!

With such a bold declaration, this headline grabbed my attention because I instantly doubted it.

It turned out the guy was selling an automated twitter follow tool – I didnt check his twitter account, but the headline worked.

3. Mike Dillard’s magic pixie dust… Thanksgiving Special

Here’s a great use of humor and seasonality that really drives clicks – I opened to see exactly what the promotion was, and it was for a copywriting product of Mike Dillard’s.

I didnt know about this discount, and it really captured my attention. Great job!

4. Fre.e Content For Your Blog, Website, and Ebooks

Remember that I told you the best way to reach ViralUrl users is with training that can help them in their own businesses?

This headline does exactly what I meant: it’s giving me free content, ready to go on to my blogs or whatever.

Excellent way to capture an opening!

5. Where will YOU be in 5 Years from Now?

Usually, emotional headlines work very well. This one has some grammatical errors, and the confusing CapItal letters kind of ruin it, but it still has a lot of punch.

Addressing a prospects’ fear is just as effective as addressing a possible benefit – sometimes even more – and it’s a great copywriting trick.

What did you think of these headlines?

How are they compared to yours?

Let me know what you think – post your comments!

How To Track Your ViralUrl Emails

November 20, 2009 · Posted in email tracking · 6 Comments
being able to track your viralurl email results is essential

being able to track your viralurl email results is essential

On our last post I told you how it’s impossible to track ViralUrl open rates, since that technology is quite advanced and no list builder offers it.

But you can absolutely track your ClickThrough Rate (the number of people that clicked on the links on your email).

This data will give you an idea of how good your copywriting skills are, how active are your responses, and which product works best for ViralUrl audiences.

There are tons of options when it comes to tracking visitors, but they’re mostly available for webmasters. If you’re sending traffic to an affiliate page, you won’t have access to their Analytics or Awstats.

So what can you do?

1. Bit.Ly Url Shortener

The guys at bit.ly offer a series of services associated with their url shortening engine. Every  time you shorten a url with bit.ly, they are capable of tracking ALL clicks, even through twitter or facebook – and will give the original data in a simple report.

Now, of course, if you use the same shortened url on your twitter, on your blog, and on ViralUrl, your data has a lot of space to get lost and your data will be corrupted. So dont do it!

Create unique urls for your viral blasts – you can keep the same one for every message, but sometimes people open their emails more than 72 hours later, so you have a change of getting your data messed up if they take too long to open.

There you have it – now you have access to crucial data for your marketing campaigns with VU.

What Can You Promote With ViralUrl?

ViralUrl works best for Internet Marketing products

ViralUrl works best for Internet Marketing products

ViralUrl lets you email 3000 members every 3 days using their cool system mailer – but what works best for this crowd?

I’ve mentioned before that viralurl users are running online businesses, most of which based on network marketing companies.

I’ve also mentioned that ViralUrl and network marketing is not the best combination because most of the users are focused on making THEIR mlm work and wont pay attention to others.

So what does this crowd of internet marketers want?

Training. And lots of it.

Everybody wants to learn a cool new SEO trick, or how to get your blog posts to go viral, etc… Things that are COMPLIMENTARY to their businesses work like a charm.

I dont have any training of my own to offer?

Even though I HARDLY doubt anyone will say that, there’s a perfect solution for this problem: ever heard of Affiliate Marketing?

Well, ViralUrl is the perfect platform to send out affiliate offers – they even offer a free affiliate link cloaker to help you protect your commissions.

There’s absolutely no trick with affiliate marketing – you send them an email talking about a software/system that you use and how it helps your business – let them know how much it could help their business too, and include your affiliate link in the bottom of the message.

If you really want to get fancy, you should send them a landing page where you ask them for name/email so you can contact them directly, without ViralUrl. (Learn how to create landing pages here)

That’s all folks – simply put, use VU to offer helpful training for other business owners and you’ll see how powerful this tool really is.

What Can You REALLY Expect From ViralUrl?

November 9, 2009 · Posted in email results · Comment
spam-1

Understand that ViralUrl is like "borrowing" an email list

I’m sure you’re familiar with the nice ViralUrl feature that allows you to email 3000 people every 3 days, but what can you really expect out of it?

Well, I have been using ViralUrl since February of 09, and I’m glad to say I broke even 3 months after.

But in terms of open rate and conversions, the responses were much smaller than I originally expected. Maybe because some of the users still flag ViralUrl messages as spam

Some marketers claim to have a 20-30% return on every email – I dont have any reason to doubt them, but my experience shows that out of the 3000 emails that go out, I get anywhere from 60-100 clicks to my webpages.

That means I’m getting an average of 2.4% Clickthrough on my ViralUrl emails. Of course, after they click on the link, the responsibility of converting them lies on your site, and not on the viralurl system.

Usually, I expect a decent 8% conversion out of those 60-100 visitors, which means for each mailing, I get anywhere from 6-15 leads.

If you have a nice relationship with your list, and share valuable content, each email on it is worth at least $3. For your ViralUrl results, that translates into $18-45 per blast. 10 blasts a month = $180 (minimum). Like I said, in two months, you’ve got your investment fully returned, and before the third month you’re already profiting.

That’s enough said – go ahead and signup for ViralUrl NOW!
